First since 1996! - Influential post/punk band back with a slightly better production quality, but still an edge. Official Site : MySpace : Amazon The Black Angels – Young Men Dead – Passover (2006) - First full length album - Formed in 2004 in Austin, TX - Interesting feel to it… similar to some of the Black Keys more eerie songs - Debut Self Titled EP was released in 2005. 2nd full length out in 2008 Official Site : MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Arcade Fire – Neon Bible – Neon Bible (2007) - sophomore album - great song that fits the holiday… eerie feel - more accessible follow up to brilliant, but further out there debut - Go French Canada! Ward + Bon Iver + Tom Waits’ ‘What’s He Building In There?’ - Eerily cool spooky tracks… slogan on Myspace is ‘Creep on creepin’ on.’ - Toronto duo Label Site : MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Karen Elson - The Ghost Who Walks - The Ghost Who Walks (2010) - Debut from Jack White's wife. Produced by Jack White - On Jack White's Third Man Records. - Hooray for more Jack White! Yes. - Arcade Fire and Polyphonic Spree fans… dig in! MySpace : HypeMachine Tom Waits – Murder In the Red Barn - Bone Machine (1992) - scary, intense, primitive sounding album - one of my top songs for this time of year. Dig!!!’ and his two Grinderman albums. - Like a few artists out there… lou reed and tom waits, he has a huge cult following and a unique/distinct sound Official Site : MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Mr. Gnome – Slow Side – Heave Your Skeleton (2009) - 2nd album - Cleveland, OH band - 3rd album is on its way and was recorded in Josh Homme’s studio. Features Sporting Event favorites, Iron Man and Paranoid. - Though my history is a bit limited, this is a great track that I think was overshadowed by the other big hits of the record. - I’ve caught three of their live reunion shows and had a great time but never heard it. - I love the transitions between soft and loud sections, it really builds.
