The Unknown and Unheard Show 259!

Black Keys – Little Black Submarines - El Camino (2011)
-          7th studio album already!
-          Their 5th & 6th albums had a much more polished sound to them, this track gives me some hope for the return of their early rough blues sounds.

Hot Club de Paris - Free The Pterodactyl 3 - Free The Pterodactyl 3 (2010)
-          3rd album or 3.
-          English band
-          Pretty catchy layered pop rock anthem.

-          Spanish band.
-          Incredibly enjoyable Black Keys/White Stripes feel here.

Ty Segall - Cents - Singles 2007-2010 (2011)
-          Latest release. As the name would imply, it’s just a big collection of his recent singles.
-          Ty Segall has almost single-handedly revitalized the fuzzy garage rock genre.
-          Old White Stripes vibes here.

The Rural Alberta Advantage – Stamp - Departing (2011)
-          2nd album
-          Blew up with their 2009 debut album and the single 'Don't Haunt This Place'.
-          songs are really marked by the bands drumming. Fast paced and light.

Dr. Dog – That Old Black Hole - Be The Void (2012)
-          Forthcoming 6th album
-          Super talented Philly band.

Heartless Bastards - Parted Ways - Arrow (2012)

-          Powered by the big voice of lead singer Erika Wennerstrom and some big rock riffs
-          Out of Dayton

The Builders and the Butchers – Cradle On Fire  - Dead Reckoning (2011)
-          3rd album
-          Tense energy can be felt through out their music.
-          Great live band!
-          I forgot about this album after the initial single was released. I apologize!

-          4th album
-          Primarily Phil Moore and Beth Tacular

Quilt - Penobska Oakwalk - Quilt (2011)
-          Debut Full length. 3 singles out as well.
-          Psychedelic ‘70s folk.
-          Reminds me of White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

Perfume Genius – All Waters – Put Your Back N 2 It (2012)
-          2nd album
-          Debut album, Learning, was a massive critical hit.
-          Another easy and catchy piano track.
-          This week's band that is blowing up out of the blue. They are everywhere!

Buffalo Killers - Love Is Gold - 3 (2011)
-          B-side from their latest album of 3.

-          4th album of 6.
-          From Brown County Indiana.

Sufjan Stevens – Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance! – Songs For Christmas
-          Sufjan is a unique artist and without many people knowing has produced roughly fifty great… not the same old… Christmas songs
-          You will not hear a Christmas song like this in Macy’s… and that’s a good thing!

Richard Swift – Zombie Boogie - Walt Wolfman EP (2011)
-          Latest EP. 4 full lengths out.
-          Finally this thing is coming out! Been in the works for over a year.
-          Hops from genre to genre
-          This track has some serious vintage sounds, Motown in particular, and was released on a primer EP that was filled with similar feels.

Lightouts - And It Comes And Goes - And It Comes and Goes Single (2011)
-          One of a few recently released teaser singles for their forthcoming full length debut.
-          This mash-up cover is a pretty unique and well executed treat.
