The Immaculates : New York Is Mine For The Holidays : Vol II 7" (2012)
-          One of only two 7" singles.
-          One of the secret bands that played the 1st of Death By Audio's final 5 shows.
-          Death By Audio was one of the more renowned small DIY music venues in NYC.
-          It, along with 2 others on the same block, is shutting down because of VICE acquiring the space.



Krill : Torturer : A Distant Fist Unclenching (2015)
-          First track off a forthcoming 3rd album
-          2013’s Lucky Leaves was their 2nd full length.
-          Debut album, Alam No Hris, was out in 2011
-          Led by Ezra Furman's brother Jonah.

 

Elisa Ambrogio : Mary Perfectly : The Immoralist (2014)
-          Solo debut from Magik Markers member.
-          Fuzzy slow-burning shoe-gaze.
-          Out on the almost always solid Drag City label.



Sufjan Stevens : We're Goin' To The Country : Songs For Christmas (2001-2006)
-          One of the first of Sufjan's Christmas songs.
-          After 2012's big release he now has 10 Christmas albums full of classics and originals.
-          There's not much need for any other holiday music.



The Lowest Pair : Trying To Feel At Home : 36¢ (2013)
-          Debut album
-          Mellow and bittersweet classic folk duo.
-          2nd album due out in 2015.



Diamond Rugs : Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant : Diamond Rugs (2012)
-          One of my favorites.
-          Rollo and Grady is a blog that may be the one that best fits the styles I enjoy and try to promote.
-          By John McCauley of Deer Tick, Middle Brother and Diamond Rugs.
-          Also performed for a Rollo and Grady Session and available for download.



Tom Waits : Step Right Up : Small Change (1976)
-          4th album from one of music’s most prolific artists
-          This is my annual sarcastic tribute to the American Christmas. There is not a song more fit.



Twerps : Shoulders : Range Anxiety (2015)
-          Forthcoming 2nd album. 2 2014 Eps as well.
-          Australian spacey indie pop.
-          Their newer songs have featured more singers.
-          This one is sung by Jules McFarlane.



Lady Lamb the Beekeeper : Billions Of Eyes : After (2015)
-          Forthcoming 2nd album
-          5 years of incredible. minor releases on her BandCamp
-          RIYL St. Vincent.
-          One of the rawest, most powerful musicians I've heard in a long time.
-          Aly Spaltro



Tony Molina : Nowhere To Go : Dissed and Dismissed (2013)
-          Debut LP
-          San Fran musician formerly of the Ovens.
-          Very reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr. and the latest effort from Jeff the Brotherhood.
-          SXSW 2014



Wooden Wand : Winter In Kentucky : Briarwood Virgins (2011)
-          Somewhere around his 14th album of 18 or so. He releases a lot of music.
-          The main project of James Jackson Toth.
-          Also released music as WAND after his band left him.
-          His last album, Blood Oaths of the New Blues, was a Best of the U & U 2013.
-          His track ‘No Bed For Beatle Wand/Days This Long’ was my favorite song of 2013.



King Khan and the Gris Gris : Winter Weather : Murder Burgers (2014)
-          Quietly released excellent collaborative album.
-          King Khan teaming up with a bay area garage psych band.
-          Also just put out a couple singles celebrating lesser known political protesters.
-          He also plays with the BBQ Show (as the Bad News Boys) and King Khan and His Shrines.
-          One of my favorite vintage soul and rock artists.



Hanni El Khatib : The Teeth : Moonlight (2015)
-          Just announced 3rd album.
-          2nd album was produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach
-          Was one of the rawest, heavy blues rock musicians going, but starting to mellow as the Black Keys have.



Twin Shadow : Turn Me Up : Eclipse (2015)
-          Debut single off his forthcoming 3rd album.
-          Led by George Lewis Jr.
-          2 excellent, highly acclaimed albums: Forget (2010) & Confess (2012)



Night Beds : Me, Liquor and God (2014)
-          Latest single.
-          One of the danciest tracks the band has released.
-          One of a couple minor releases over the past year by Winston Yellen.
