Emperor X – Sig Alert – Western Teleport (2011)
-          5th album.
-          Former HS science teacher.
-          RIYL: Mountain Goats & Death Cab for Cutie

Air Review - America's Son - America's Son EP (2011)
-          Debut EP
-          Dallas folk rock band
-          Cool Sufjan Stevens and Elliot Smith vibes on this track.

Siskiyou - Twigs and Stones - Keep Away The Dead (2011)
-          2nd album
-          Led by former Great Lake Swimmer Colin Huebert.
-          Feels like an amped up Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy track.

We Were Promised Jetpacks – Through the Dirt and the Gravel - In the Pit of the Stomach (2011)
-          2nd album
-          Scottish band with a very similar sound to Frightened Rabbit on the mellower tracks but seem a bit more aggressive when they amp up their sound.

Hanni El Khatib - Build. Destroy. Rebuild. - Build. Destroy. Rebuild. 7” Single (2010)
-          If you love the old Black Keys you will get into this guy for sure!
-          Hard, dirty garage blue rock.

Gentlemen Rogues - Run From the Light, Carol Anne - Run From the Light, Carol Anne (Single) (2011)
-          Latest single. Debut 3 song EP is also out on their BandCamp.

The National - Think You Can Wait - Win Win OST(2011)
-          This song is from a movie soundtrack.
-          Latest full length album was High Violet. First since 2007
-          They also had a hand in the production of the ‘Dark Was The Night’ compilation.

Color Radio - Vespers - Architects (2011)
-          Debut full length. Also have an EP out in 2009, Be Safe.
-          Shoegaze from Chicago.

The Rapture - It Takes Time To Be A Man - In the Grace of Your Love (2011)
-          4th album
-          An easier upbeat style of rock that reminds me of some of Ryan Adams more enjoyable work.
-          On James Murphy’s (of LCD Soundsystem) DFA Records.

Paley and Francis - Praise - Paley and Francis (2011)
-          Album from Black Francis and his long time collaborator Reid Paley.
-          This track has a big Velvet Underground feel to it.

The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat - White Light/White Heat (1968)
-          2nd Album.
-          Pretty much as influential as a band gets.
-          John Cale and Lou Reed.

Richard Swift – Broken Finger Blues - Walt Wolfman EP (2010)
-          Latest EP. 4 full lengths out.
-          Finally this thing is coming out! Been in the works for over a year.
-          Hops from genre to genre
-          This track has some serious vintage sounds, Motown in particular, and was released on a primer EP that was filled with similar feels.

Ryan Adams – Ashes and Fire - Ashes and Fire (2011)
-          Forthcoming album.
-          This is one of my all-time favorite artists and this is the first  song I've really enjoyed in a while. Hopes are high that he'll back off the big label polish.

PAPA - Song For Mike Gigliotti - A Good Woman Is Hard To Find EP (2011)
-          Led by the drummer for the band Girls.
-          Upbeat, a touch beachy and sun-drenched pop and a perfect fit for the end of summer.
-          There is something triumphant in their tracks that really draws me in.

Sigur Ros -Festival (Live) - Inni (2011)
-          New live album from unique Icelandic band. 5 LPs.
-          Album translates to ‘With a Buzz in our ears we play endlessly.’
-          Song translates into ‘Within Me a Lunatic Sings’
-          Lyrics are usually big for me to get into a band, but here, the fact I can’t understand them gives their music a certain mystique.
-          This album is a soundtrack to a Movie/Documentary
