U & U Show 408 | Tom Waits Debuts & The Night Sweats

Tom Waits : Take One Last Look : Late Show with David Letterman (2015)
-          New song played as a sendoff for Dave's final run of shows.
-          Started mellow, soulful and jazz-leaning, but has slowly turned more alternative and weirder.
-          One of the greatest of the great musicians over the past 50 years.

Spoon : TV Set : Poltergeist OST (2015)
-          Cover of the Cramps.
-          Perfect band and style for Spoon to take on in a cover.
-          8th album was out in 2015.
-          First album since the band found success teaming up with Dan Boeckner in the Divine Fits.
-          One of the most prominent and critically acclaimed indie bands of the past 20 years.

U & U Show 406 | Titus Returns and Has Me Excited

Mikal Cronin : Turn Around : MCIII (2015)
-          3rd album.
-          One of the best songwriters going writing vintage beachy psych rock/pop.
-          Also in a surf-punk band called the Moonhearts & Ty Segall's backing band, just like Ty's in Mikal's band.

The Tallest Man On Earth : Darkness of the Dream : Dark Bird Is Home (2015)
-          4th album.
-          Swedish singer/songwriter Kristian Matsson
-          Powerful voice and bringing in the fullness of a War On Drugs LP.
-          2008 self-titled debut was very well received.

U & U Show 405 | Strong New Ezra Furman & Sheer Mag

Ezra Furman : Lousy Connection : Perpetual Motion People (2015)
-          Forthcoming 2nd solo LP.
-          This one is a fun, slightly demented punky do-wop track.
-          Formerly recorded as Ezra Furman & the Harpoons.
-          Brother of KRILL's leader Jonah Furman.
-          Longtime show favorite.

Sheer Mag : Fan the Flames : EP II (2015)
-          2nd EP available on BandCamp.
-          Latest single, Button Up, is their best song to date.
-          Awesome blend of punk and catchy vintage rock and roll.
-          One of the best bands at SXSW 2015.

The U & U Show 402 | So Many Big Names w/ New LPs

Tame Impala : 'Cause I'm A Man : Currents (2015)
-          First single from forthcoming 3rd LP.
-          By far the most dance-y track to date. Sounds more like Daft Punk than their previous music.
-          Innerspeaker & Lonerism have been two of the best Beatles-leaning vintage psych rock albums of the past few years.
-          One of the leading forces of the Perth, AUS psych rock scene.

Sufjan Stevens : The Only Thing : Carrie and Lowell (2015)
-          I believe it's officially his forthcoming 6th album, but he's also but out numerous other compilations and releases from side projects.
-          One of the most talented musicians that I've been able to enjoy every step of the way.
-          This first teaser sounds like a hope-elevating return to his early stripped back folk days.
