MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Yeah Yeah Yeah's – Maps – Fever to Tell (2003) - Debut full length from this stylistically unique garage rock band. - Karen O is the lead singer and has one of the best voices going in any genre if you ask me. MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Parlovr - Pen to the Paper – Parlovr (2008) - Debut album - Pronounced ‘parlour’. - Originally out in 2008… re-released this year. - 2nd album is forthcoming. - Wolf Parade/Suckers anthem feel. - I didn’t even have to wait for the vocals to cast my vote of approval as this track had me smiling within seconds of hitting play. MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Listening Party – All Those Animals – I Was Young (2010) - One of my favorite bands and they snuck an album out on me! - Incredibly catchy band from western Canada. MySpace : Amazon : HypeMachine Voxhaul Broadcast - Rotten Apples - Rotten Apples (2007) - Debut full length. - This track has a driving anthem feel and is somewhat reminiscent of the Kings of Leon (minus the sell out side). MySpace : HypeMachine Luke Doucet and the White Falcon - Some of You Folks - Steel City Trawler (2010) - Makes me think a lot of Ike Reilly just not quite as much polish and flair. - Huge mash up of styles, but primarily focused around southern barroom style rock. Myspace : Buy on Amazon : Stream on HypeMachine Brendan Benson - Feel Like Taking You Home – My Old, Familiar Friend (2009) - forthcoming album, first since Raconteurs work - out 8-18-09 - for those not near and dear to his previous solo work you should be able to at least clearly hear his contribution to the Raconteurs’ sound.
