Titus Andronicus : In The Big City : Local Business (2012)
-          3rd album.
-          2nd album The Monitor was my pick for best album of 2010 and one of my all time favorites.
-          A Rolling Stone ‘Best new band of 2010’ even though their debut came out in 2008.
-          SXSW 2012



Ty Segall : The Hill : Twins (2012)
-          3rd full length of 2012 from this ultra-prolific artist.
-          Fuzzy nd energetic blast of garage sounds from usual San Fran collaborators.
-          San Fran 60’s psych/garage rock leader.
-          Mikal Cronin is also in his backing band.
-          There are few people I have a bigger musical crush on than these two.



DUNE RATS! : Pogo : Social Atoms EP (2011)
-          Latest single. 2 2011 EPs.
-          Sloppy garage, REM-leaning act starting to carve out a name for themselves in a similar way as FIDLAR.
-          Tied for best act of CMJ 2012 with the Grizzled Mighty



The Grizzled Mighty : Let You Know : The Grizzled Mighty (2012)
-          Debut full length.
-          Huge Seasick Steve and Black Keys sound. Mean blues rock.
-          Tied for best act of CMJ 2012 with Dune Rats



Friend Roulette : On Her Own Tonight : Hi, Hello EP (2012)
-          2nd EP
-          Brooklyn based band that was a extremely pleasant surprise.
-          Feature a violin and clarinet, male and female singers and very intracate songs.



Twerps : Don't Be Surprised : Twerps (2011)
-          Debut Album
-          A spacey brand of indie pop.
-          CMJ 2012



Foxygen : Make It Known : Take the Kids Off Broadway (2011)
-          Debut album that was just rereleased after Jagjaguwar signed them.
-          Funkier Rolling Stones feel.
-          CMJ 2012



Poor Moon : Birds : Poor Moon (2012)
-          Debut full length.
-          Debut EP was entitled Illusion.
-          Features two members of the Fleet Foxes and has the sound of the first 2 Fleet Foxes EPs.



Mal Blum : Baltimore : Every Time You Go Somewhere (2010)
-          3rd Album. 1 EP as well.
-          NY folk singer songwriter
-          CMJ 2012



Wild Cub : Jonti : Youth (2012)
-          Debut album
-          Led by singer/songwriter/film score composer Keegan DeWitt and Nashville musician Jeremy Bullock.
-          RIYL NewVillager


Way Yes : Singing : Walkability (2012)
-          Debut full length.
-          If you like this band look up the Listening Party. Also reminiscent of mellower Yeasayer and Yellow Ostrich.

Born Ruffians : Five Years (David Bowie cover) : Paper Bag Records VS The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (2012)
-          Compilation of Bowie covers from Paper Bag Records artists.



Savages : Flying To Berlin : Flying To Berlin b/w Husbands (single) (2012)
-          Latest single. Full length debut is still yet to be officially announced.
-          London-based female post-punk group that was the 'Have you seen ___ yet?' at CMJ 2012.




Slam Donahue : I Turn On : Hemlock Tea EP (2012)
-          2nd EP. Both out in 2012
-          Their older EP has a little fuzzier sound than this one.

Leatherbag - We're Broke - Patience (2011)
-          Debut EP. 2 Full lengths as well.
-          Austin band
-          2nd band I saw at SXSW 2012 and one that I didn’t know at all going in. Ended up being a favorite.



Father John Misty - Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings - Fear Fun (2012)
-          J Tillman's debut album under this alias.
-          Former member of the Fleet Foxes who hasn’t really put out any solo work that's impressed me until this song.
-          His SXSW 2012 performance was also less than phenomenal unfortunately.



Pond -    When It Explodes - Beard Wives Denim (2012)
-          Debut Full length
-          Made of members of Tame Impala.
-          By far the greatest lead singer I saw at SXSW. Young, tiny, wild aussie.



Burnt Ones - Meet the Golden Ones - Meet the Golden Ones 7" Single (2012)
-          Latest single. One album out as well.
-          San Francisco band.
-          'Spirit in the Sky' vibe to this vintage sounding garage rocker.



Little Barrie - New Diamond Love - King of the Waves (2010)
-          3rd album
-          English band



Lucero - Who You Waiting On? - Women & Work (2012)
-          New album due out in March!
-          Ben Nichols, lead singer, has been working on solo stuff since this came out.
-          Best bar rock band going!



Howlin Rain – Beneath Wild Wings - The Russian Wilds (2012)
-          3rd album
-          2nd album, Magnificent Fiend, was out in 2008.
-          Another Jagjaguwar band.
-          Most energy of any live show I’ve ever seen.
-          SXSW 2012

-          Debut EP
-          Features two members of the Fleet Foxes and has the sound of the first 2 Fleet Foxes EPs.

-          Folk husband and wife duo.

-          Debut album
-          Eclectic, tempo-swinging, folk rock track.

Choir of Young Believers - Patricia's Thirst - Rhine Gold (2012)
-          2nd full length
-          Electronic folk pop that makes me think of Geographer or Yeasayer.
-          Were excellent at SXSW 2012



Daniel Rossen - Silent Song - Silent Hour/Golden Mile EP (2012)
-          Debut EP
-          Solo project from Grizzly Bear member.



The Ettes - Teeth - Wicked Will (2011)
-          4th full length album.
-          Played SXSW 2012



Moonface - Headed For the Door - With Siinai: Heartbreaking Bravery (2012)
-          Forthcoming 2nd album. First with Siinai as backing band
-          First full length was out last year, Organ Music.
-          Debut EP was out last year and was one 20+ minute track.
-          Wolf Parade's and Sunset Rubdown's Spencer Krug's solo project.
