Well, I've given in. After years of holding back as December would come to a close, I always presented you with one tidy Best of the U & U 20-- list. Songs, albums, videos, performances. It was all there with the only ranking being my favorite album. Ummm... yeah... about that... Time for a new approach to switch things up! Realizing, and for some reason foresaking, the notion that massive song lists like this are impossible to compile and rank, I present to you 112 of the best songs of 2012 according to me. I know I've left off some tremendous songs and albums, some I'll regret and some I just don't get (Frank Ocean? Kendrick Lamar? blah), but I've tried to put a fair amount of effort in here. The closer we get to #1, the more 'accurate' I tried to make the rankings. I also took waaay too much time trying to find a streamable versions of all the tracks since my Spotify attempt at that was quite a let down with many tracks not being available. But this is it! This is the official-ish recap of each 2012 track you should become friends with. Feedback is welcome!
